Some time ago, i started it up and got a "no bootable media" message. The laptop is a Dell Latitude E7470 i7 running Windows 10 Pro - just out of warranty. In another thread i referred to a laptop that will not boot - but here, i am hoping i can find a way to get it to boot without reformatting the SSD and reinstalling the OS. if you intend to use it for 3 years more or less and upgrading to new laptop, then buy the cheaper Kingston. If you intend to keep the laptop longer, buy samsung brand. That way you can save time not to repair windows and get a new HDD or SSD. If for some reason you can boot into windows even in safe mode, the best bet is to run crystaldiskinfo and see if the disk is failing. If you did not pass the first repair stage, the subsequent repairs are more difficult and require running bootrec /fixboot commands and also sfc /scannow. Then hopefully you can boot into windows without issues. One way you can fix this is to boot into advanced options from windows and run chkdsk /f to fix disk errors. This message will only come out if windows did not boot successfully. "Undoing changes" means windows is undoing the corrections it did to the disk or file. This could be due to interruption like power failure or disk about to fail.
"Repairing disk errors" means windows is repairing files that is not closed properly or data that was not allocated properly on disk.
